Dear Families,

Group stage rehearsals will take place on Tuesday, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4 at Festival Place. These rehearsals are for our Festival participating students. We did our utmost to accommodate Staff availability, Student schedules etc. Please read carefully.

If you are participating in a festival, please carefully note the day and time of your class as listed on the schedule.

Important Arrival Information:

• Please arrive no earlier than 4:30 PM, as we do not have access to the theatre before that time.

• For group rehearsals, dancers must arrive 45 minutes prior to their scheduled dance time.

• Dressing rooms will be available for dancers to:

  • Change into costumes

  • Complete hair and makeup

  • Lipstick should be applied after costumes are on

• Do not arrive in costume. Please use the theatre's dressing rooms.

  • Public washrooms are not to be used for changing.

  • Festival Place does not have family change rooms. Please contact us if you need assistance with this

Costume, Hair & Makeup

• These rehearsals are fully costumed, with hair and makeup completed.

• Detailed hair, makeup, and performance requirement sheets will be:

  • Added to your portal

  • Emailed later this month 

  • If you are a Hip Hop or Breakdance student - please purchase plain white sneakers and plain white socks( unless your teacher has told you otherwise)

At the Theatre

• Our staff will be very busy. We will do our best to greet groups in the lobby.

• If no staff member is present upon arrival:

  • Proceed directly to a dressing room ( dressing rooms are located to the left when you come in the main doors- proceed down the hallway and look for a sign with class levels on it - get changed and put on your dance shoes 

  • Festival place does not have family change rooms - please contact us if you need assistance with this.

  • Then enter the theatre and take a seat - parents are welcome to watch these non ticketed evenings.

• We will be following proper theatre etiquette:

  • Enter the theatre when music is not playing

  • Do your best to be quiet and watch the dancers - for some this is the 1st time on stage

  • Please silence cell phone, no photography or videos during the rehearsals. 

  • Staff will be spacing, talking and coordinating our students, before they dance with music.

  • We will be videotaping so students can watch in class time - this is for spacing and learning purposes only.

• Teachers may make announcements or collect dancers to rehearse prior to going on stage.

• We have limited time - so being on time is very important (45 minutes before your dance time) - this time will be different when participating in festivals.

What to Bring

• A peanut-free snack

• A water bottle
